Craft: The process of making Kalamkari, dating back to more than 3000 B.C., involves 23 steps. This ancient temple art of hand-painting is done on a fabric with a tamarind pen, using natural dyes. Artisans extract black color by blending jaggery, water, and iron fillings which essentially is for outlining the sketches. While mustard or yellow is derived by boiling pomegranate peels, red hues are created from the bark of madder or algirin. Likewise, blue is obtained from indigo, and green is derived by mixing yellow and blue together.
Composition: Pure Tussar Silk in warp and Pure Tussar Silk in weft
Sari Length: 5.6 Meters,  Blouse Length: 1 Meter(unstitched, attached with sari)
Note: The blouse shown is for styling purposes only. Product color may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your device settings.
