Craft: The origin of Tanchoi technique can be traced back to China. Taking a long route to India, it finally found its special place in the land of weaves Benaras where it was revived and thrived with myriad designs.
Tanchoi soon became synonymous with regality and elegance. Its unique feature is its satin finish making it soft and lustrous.
However, originally these satin finish saris were thick but different experiments over the years finally led to a much lighter drape in the hands of skilled weavers.

Craft: Tanchoi and Jaaldar. Banarasi Brocade is a long-standing tradition of crafting intricate gold designs that have become a part of the sari culture all over the country. This technique helps expert artisans create timeless designs by weaving rich patterns with a golden zari. They are generally made of layers consisting of weft yarn and a lot of deliberate interludes that are added between the warps to produce intertwined patterns. The metallic orientation appears pleasing and makes the sari glow with a sparkling luster.
