Where Gold Meets Fuchsia — A Sari That Dazzles

There are saris that whisper, and there are saris that sing. 'Jhilmil Rani' sings. A Pure Tissue Banarasi handloom sari in a majestic shade of fuchsia, woven with gold zari in a dazzling geometric border, this is a piece made for the woman who walks into a room and makes it brighter simply by arriving. Jhilmil — the shimmer of light on water — is exactly what this sari does to every gathering it graces.

The Craft: Banarasi Tissue Weaving

A Banarasi sari is considered the queen of all silk saris, and the tissue weave is among its most luminous expressions. Woven by master weaver Anwar on a traditional handloom in Varanasi, this sari is the product of 20 days of meticulous handwork. The warp is Pure Katan Silk, while the weft is woven entirely in gold zari — creating a fabric that shimmers with every movement, catching light from every angle. The weaving of Banarasi saris requires a highly complex method accomplished only by expert weavers who carry generations of knowledge in their hands, constantly experimenting and evolving while honouring the tradition.

Design Details

The fuchsia body glows with the warmth of the gold zari weft, giving the fabric a rich, luminous depth. The geometric border is crisp and contemporary — a modern sensibility expressed in the most ancient of crafts. The pallu is woven in plain tissue, allowing the gold to speak without interruption, making it perfect for festive occasions where you want to be remembered.

Styling Suggestions

Fuchsia and gold are a festive pairing made for celebrations. Pair with a blouse in red, deep green, or ivory for a classic, vibrant look. For a wedding or sangeet, style with gold polki or kundan jewellery and a structured bun adorned with mogra or marigold. For a contemporary festive look, try a blouse in deep navy or forest green with minimal jewellery — the gold zari will carry the entire look. Heeled sandals in gold or nude complete the ensemble beautifully.

Note: The blouse shown is for styling purposes only. Product colour may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your device settings. These are limited edition saris and may take time to reach you.
