Jameela Tanchoi Banarasi Handloom Sari
A harmonious blend of contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship, this masterpiece results from 50 days of meticulous handwork, showcasing a fusion of intricate weaving techniques — Jaal, Minakari, and Tanchoi artistry — with delicate floral Jaal patterns. Jameela offers a versatile half-and-half design, allowing you to drape it in two distinct styles.
One half features the floral Jaal pattern, while the other half is adorned with elegant zari lines, offering dual aesthetics in a single attire. The aanchal (pallu) of the saree is crafted from delicate tissue fabric, embellished with subtle lines that enhance its graceful drape and shimmering appeal. Each saree is accompanied by an unstitched blouse piece featuring the same floral design.
These are limited edition Saris and may take time to reach you.
The origin of the Tanchoi technique can be traced back to China. After a long journey, it finally found its home in the land of weaves, Benaras, where it was revived and flourished, giving rise to a myriad of intricate designs. Tanchoi quickly became synonymous with regality and elegance, celebrated for its unique satin finish that imparts a soft, lustrous texture.
Originally, these satin-finish sarees were thick, but over the years, various experiments and innovations by skilled weavers led to the development of a much lighter drape, making them not only beautiful but also more comfortable to wear.
Composition: Pure Katan Silk in warp and Pure Katan Silk in weft
